Hi this peg bag is certain to cheer up any washing line. Perfect to give as a present, use up those little pieces of scrap fabric or as a starter project for anyone new to sewing. I based my pattern around a childs coat hanger, this was easy to do or you could use squared paper. These are the pieces and shapes I ended up with.

If I have time and can work out how to do it I will attach a pattern let me know if you would like one. I allowed a seam of around 0.5cm for all the seams and used a straight stitch with my machine set at 2.5.

Iron your fabric (looking wrinkly I don't think you ran the iron over yours sewsanna !) Cut out your pattern.

Use a fabric marker to mark where the crosses are at the top of the pattern this will be to make a hole for your coat hanger to go through. Remember my ready steady sew - STOP - is your machine threaded correctly. Set to the right, tension, stitch type and stitch length. SEW - do a test piece first before you sew on your project. GO - now you are ready to sew remember to start with a backstitch to secure your seam.

Place inside lining fabric to back right sides together and stitch in-between the marks you made in the last step.Using a 0.5cm seam.

Turn inside out and clip at the end of your seam like above.

Attach the lace to the wrong side of the two fronts of your peg bag pin and stitch into place.

Press open and then flip over and press again to make a neat edge. You could also top stitch this edge if you prefer. Ta - dah no raw edges. Repeat for the other side.

Place the right sides together and cross them over at some points you will have a few layers of fabric make sure you pin all the layers together and sew all around the edge and sleeves starting at the neck of the little dress. Clip the corners and release the fabric under the arms of the dress with a little snip (be careful not to cut through your stitching line) then turn inside out Push all the corners our well with a chop stick and press well. Place your coat hanger under the lining and wiggle it in. I used a children's hanger or you could cut a wooden one down.

Lovely - enjoy that "I made it myself feeling" and brighten up your washing line. Have fun. Sewsanna X
