About Me. I'm Susanna, married to Mark, and  have three children (19,17 and 11). I live in Bury St Edmunds and work part time at St Benedicts Secondary School.

I have never known a time when I have not been surrounded by fabric. As a child I loved to spend time in my Dads upholstery workshop watching him sew and I was soon picking up fabric scraps and sewing  bags and even little shoes.   Over the years I have progressed to many dressmaking projects including a wedding dress for myself, as well as for several friends - and a whole range of other projects from bags to curtains, dresses to toys and a whole lot more besides.

I love the creative opppourtunities a sewing machine can bring, especially free machining (which is bit like drawing with your machine). I like nothing better than to making a present for a friend  or to revamp something old.

Passing on my love of sewing and enabling others to make  beautiful things has been very rewarding. I have sucessfully run several beginners evening courses (and am just about to start a daytime course as well) and people are coming back for more. Its been a joy to see people grow in confidence as they learn to use there machine, and begin to discover (or re-discover) and develop their sewing ability - which is such a useful life skill.

The childrens workshops have been so much fun, as the children have built on their skills, learned from mistakes and are sewing independently. Its great to see the things they are making at home and I love to encourage them to further creativity as well as building in important basic skills, so they get good results.

I still get that fabulous feeling from saying "I made it myself"! and want to pass that on to you too!
