To make your little felt heart .

Start by making an anchor stitch so your

stitching does not come undone (you do this at the beginning and end) just make a couple of extra stitches on top of one another to make it secure.

Make small even running stitches all the way round your heart shape.Remember to leave a small gap this is where you will stuff your heart.

Stuff your heart and sew up the gap. Remember to do an anchor stitch when you finish off so the stuffing stays secure inside.

Add a button and a loop of ribbon for your heart to hang by. If you have any spare thread you could add some lazy daisy stitches. I have tried to show you how you make a lazy daisy stitch.

Bring your thread up and make a little loop.

Make a little stitch from where the thread comes out and through the loop. Not to big this will make the petals of your daisy.

Make a tiny stitch at the top of the loop to secure the loop and then make some more petals in the same way. Have fun and remember that practice makes perfect. Felt is a perfect fabric to start sewing with. You could think of lots of different ways to decorate your hanging heart, beads, buttons, different fabrics you could make them for friends and family. Go on get creative...
